We are trying to select furniture for our baby's room. We love the look of espresso color furniture but people tell us it will scratch too easily - especially in a nursery. Does anyone have an espresso crib and dresser? Any recommendations/thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Kate-
I remember going back and forth over my son's new nusery, too! My husband and I loved the espresso color furniture at first sight. We thought it was something he would grow with and went well with our Potterybarn sailboat theme. We ended up getting all his pieces in the darker finish and we have no regrets. I think all children get a little messy and scratch new things no matter how hard you try:) I especially liked the plastic guard on the crib which helped with teething. I will send you pics of Frankie's sailboat themed room and maybe it will help make your decision easier. We had a lot of fun painting the stripes!
